Privacy Policy
How Vantaryn Labs collects, uses, shares and protects information when your household uses HomeWeek, including information about children that parents enter, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
HomeWeek is provided by Vantaryn Labs LLC (“Vantaryn Labs,” “we,” “us” or “our”), a Wyoming limited liability company. We are responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy. You can reach us at hello@homeweek.app, by phone at (307) 393-5609, or by mail at 30 N Gould St #69108, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.
This policy covers the HomeWeek app for iPhone and iPad and its widgets (the “app”), our website at https://homeweek.app and our support channels (together, “HomeWeek”). Please read it together with our Terms of Use.
In this policy, a “household” is the group of adults, children and screens that share one HomeWeek calendar. An “adult” is a person with their own HomeWeek account. A “shared screen” is a device a parent pairs to show the household’s calendar, such as a kitchen iPad. Apple, Google and other companies whose services you use with HomeWeek handle information under their own privacy policies, not this one.
2. Information we collect
What we collect depends on the features your household uses. To use HomeWeek, an adult gives us an email address and a password, and a name to show in the household. Everything else is created as your household uses the app, or is optional.
Information adults give us
- Your account. Your email address, your password, the account ID we assign, when you confirmed your email address and when you signed in. Our sign-in service stores your password only in a scrambled (hashed) form, so we can’t see it. In the household you also have a display name (“Your name”), an optional profile photo and your language and region setting.
- Your household. The household’s name (for example, a family name), its time zone, which adults belong to it and each adult’s role (owner, admin or adult).
- Invitations. If you invite another adult, the email address you enter, who sent the invitation, its role and when it expires. The invitation code itself is kept only in scrambled form.
- The people in your household. For each person a parent adds: a name, whether they are an adult, a child or someone else (such as a caregiver), a color, and optional initials, a symbol, a pattern and a photo. These profiles have no age or school fields. Optional holiday-theme dates are described under Settings below. Section 7 explains how we handle information about children.
- What your household plans. Events (title, category, notes, place, times, repeats, who is involved, pickup and drop-off, things to bring and reminders), chores and tasks (including who finished them and when, and any points), routines, lists and list items, meals, recipes and their photos, pantry staples, typed and handwritten notes, rewards and points, and the household’s activity list (for example, “Dad added Soccer”). Families can type appointments, such as a doctor’s visit. Each event has a category that sets its symbol. When Smart Add suggests an event, it can suggest a category from the words used, including “Medical” for words such as “dentist” or “doctor”; this happens on your device, and you can change the category. Enter only what you’re comfortable keeping in a shared family calendar.
- Photos and files. Photos for the photo frame, people’s photos, recipe photos, theme images, imported fonts, handwritten notes and their previews, and photos or PDF files you attach to an event. Photo frame pictures, people’s photos, recipe photos and theme images are saved as new copies without their location and camera details. A photo or PDF you attach to an event is uploaded as it is, so it can include details stored in the file, such as where a photo was taken.
- Settings. The household’s settings, page layouts, themes and fonts, and each adult’s own settings. In Appearance & Themes, a household owner or admin can optionally save names with birthday month-and-day values, and each child’s name, school start date and optional school name, to schedule decorations. Birthday themes do not ask for birth years or ages. These entries are shared with your household, including its display screens, and a household owner or admin can edit or remove them there.
- Weather place (optional). Weather is off until a parent turns it on. When it is on, the place a parent picks is saved in the household’s settings as the place’s name (for example, a town, state and country) and a point rounded to about 1 kilometer (two decimal places). HomeWeek never reads your device’s location.
- Support messages. Anything you send us by email or phone.
Information collected automatically
- Phones and shared screens. For each adult’s phone, a random installation ID the app creates (not Apple’s device identifiers), used to keep that phone’s settings and layouts. For each shared screen: a sign-in identity that belongs to the screen, not to a person, with the sign-in records described below; the name a parent gives it; its type and app version; what it may do; when it last connected; and who approved it.
- Technical information. Like most online services, our servers and service providers receive your device’s IP address and the basic technical details a device or browser sends, such as app, browser and system versions. Our sign-in service records the IP address and the device or browser type of each sign-in session and in its security log. Our hosting provider limits repeated sign-in attempts using your IP address.
- Crash reports from Apple. If you have turned on “Share with App Developers” on your device, Apple may share crash reports and basic diagnostic information about HomeWeek with us. You can turn this off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
What we don’t collect
- HomeWeek never asks for location permission. Photo frame pictures, people’s photos, recipe photos and theme images are saved without their location; a photo you attach to an event is uploaded as it is and can include where it was taken, as described above.
- We don’t collect your contacts, your device’s advertising identifier, browsing history or payment card details.
- Our servers never receive audio. The microphone is used only while you speak to Smart Add (Section 4).
- The camera and your photo library are used only when you choose to take or pick a photo. The app receives only the photos you pick.
3. How we use information
- To provide HomeWeek. We create and secure accounts and households, keep your household’s information in sync across phones and shared screens, decide what each adult and each screen may see, show reminders, run Smart Add, show the weather if you turn it on and clear past items on the schedule your household chooses.
- To keep HomeWeek safe and secure. We protect accounts, limit abuse and repeated attempts, investigate security problems and enforce our Terms.
- To support you and communicate with you. We answer your questions and send account emails, such as confirming your email address and resetting your password, and tell you about important changes to HomeWeek, our Terms or this policy. If we ever email adults news about HomeWeek, each message will include a way to unsubscribe.
- To fix problems and improve reliability. We use support conversations, technical records and any crash reports Apple shares with us. We don’t use analytics tools.
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
We don’t use your household’s information for advertising, to build marketing profiles or to train artificial intelligence models, and we don’t make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about anyone based solely on automated processing.
4. Smart Add
Smart Add turns a photo, a scan, a typed sentence or something you say into suggested events and tasks. You check every suggestion before anything is saved. On a shared screen, Smart Add only ever reads on the screen itself.
- Reading happens on your device. Smart Add reads photos, scans and text on your iPhone or iPad with Apple’s text recognition and HomeWeek’s own reader. The photo or text isn’t sent anywhere for reading.
- Speaking. When you speak to Smart Add, the app uses Apple’s speech recognition on your device where the device supports it. On a device that can’t recognize speech on the device, the audio is sent to Apple’s speech recognition service only if you have turned on Allow External Processing in Settings > Smart Features & Capture; otherwise speaking isn’t available on that device. Apple handles that audio under its own privacy policy. It never reaches our servers.
- Things you share into HomeWeek. A photo or text you share into HomeWeek from another app waits on your phone, not on our server, until you review it. It is deleted after 14 days if you don’t (you can change this in Settings) and when you sign out.
- Unsaved suggestions stay on your device for 14 days by default.
5. Where HomeWeek is offered
We offer HomeWeek to households in the United States. If you use HomeWeek while traveling, we handle your information as this policy describes, and it is processed as Section 14 explains. Wherever you are, you can use the tools in Section 10 or email us.
7. Children’s information
HomeWeek is a planner for adults to run their household. It is not directed to children. Accounts are only for adults 18 and over. Children aren’t allowed to create accounts or sign in, and HomeWeek doesn’t ask children for personal information. Families do plan around their children, so HomeWeek holds information about children that parents enter. This section explains how we handle it. We give every household these protections, whatever the children’s ages.
What parents enter about children
- A child’s name (a nickname is fine), color, and optional initials, symbol and photo. The photo is saved as a new copy without its location and camera details.
- The events, chores, routines, rewards and points that involve the child, and anything a parent writes about the child in notes, lists or event details.
We don’t ask for a child’s age, school name, contact details or location. A household owner or admin can optionally choose birthday month-and-day values and school start dates for household themes without naming a person or school. Please enter only what your household needs to plan.
Children and the shared screen
Children often use the household’s shared screen, for example to tick off their chores. A shared screen is set up by a parent, signs in as the screen, not as a person, and can do only what a parent allows. By default it can tick chores, run routines, edit lists and make typed and handwritten notes, so anyone at the screen, including children, can write or draw there. Anything added on the shared screen is stored as the household’s content, recorded as coming from that screen, and is visible to the household’s adults and screens. It is never public and never shown outside the household.
The household’s owner and admins manage what the shared screen can do in Settings > Devices & Shared iPad, where they can turn list editing and notes on or off for that screen. Any adult can delete something added on the shared screen, for example if a child writes something personal.
How we use and share children’s information
We use it only to provide HomeWeek to the child’s household: to show the household’s plans, chores and photos to its adults and screens, send reminders and keep the service secure. We don’t use children’s information for advertising or marketing, we don’t build profiles of children, and we don’t sell it. It is shared with our service providers, which process it for us (Section 6). We disclose it otherwise only for the legal and safety reasons in Section 6.
A parent’s choices
- Review. See everything about your child in the app. Owners and admins can also download the household’s records (Section 10). Email us and we will send you anything else we hold about your child within 45 days.
- Correct. The household’s owner and admins can change a child’s name, color and photo in Settings > Household & People, and any adult can edit the household’s items. If you can’t make a change yourself, email us.
- Delete. Delete any item. When the household’s owner or an admin removes a person in Settings > Household & People, it hides them everywhere but keeps their name and photo so past items still make sense, and you can restore them from the Recycle Bin in Settings > Privacy & Data. To erase your child’s name and photo completely, email us from the email address on your account and we will do so within 45 days; past items that mentioned your child will then show “Former member.”
- Refuse further collection. Stop adding information about your child, delete it, or ask us to delete it. This doesn’t affect your own account.
We will confirm that a request comes from an adult in the child’s household before acting. If we learn that a child has created an account, or that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without a parent’s knowledge, we will delete it.
8. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Here is how that works for each kind of information.
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Your account (email address, sign-in, display name and profile photo) | Until you delete your account. |
| Your household, its people (including children), lists, recipes, photos, themes, fonts and settings | Until the household is deleted. A household is deleted when an owner asks us to delete it. When an adult leaves or deletes their account, the household keeps what they shared with it. |
| Items you delete | Hidden from everyone at once. The deleted record itself stays on our server until the daily clean-up removes it (for past items, below) or the household is deleted. A deleted photo or file can no longer be opened by anyone, but the file can stay in our storage until the household is deleted. |
| Past events, finished chores, routine runs, ticked list items, past meal plans, older notes that aren’t pinned, and older activity | For the period your household chooses in Settings > Privacy & Data > Keep Past Items For: 1, 2, 3 or 6 months (3 months unless an owner or admin changes it). A daily clean-up then deletes them for good. |
| The server archive | Before the daily clean-up clears items, it copies their details to an archive on our server that only owners and admins can download. Archived items are kept for 12 months unless an owner or admin chooses a different period in Keep the Archive For, or turns off Keep a Server Archive. Drawings and attached files aren’t archived. |
| Copies of recent changes, kept so a change sent twice isn’t saved twice | 45 days. |
| Things shared into Smart Add and unsaved suggestions (on your phone) | 14 days by default, and deleted when you sign out. |
| Invitations, including the invited person’s email address | Until the household is deleted. |
| Shared screens | Removing a screen ends its access at once. A record of the screen (its name, type, app version, when it last connected and who approved it) and its sign-in identity, with that identity’s sign-in records, are kept until the household is deleted. A screen that starts pairing but is never approved is deleted after 30 days. Pairing codes expire after 10 minutes and work only once; records of codes and of pairing attempts are deleted within 30 days. |
| Sign-in records with IP addresses and device or browser types | Session records end when you sign out or delete your account. Our sign-in service’s security log has no automatic deletion date; we keep it to protect accounts and investigate misuse, and we delete entries when they are no longer needed for that. |
| Support emails | While we help you, then deleted within 24 months after your last message, unless we need them longer to comply with the law or resolve a legal claim. Emails that opt out of arbitration, give a notice of dispute or ask for paper notices are kept while your account exists and for six years after. |
| Backups | Our hosting provider keeps backups for the limited period set by its plan, and uses them only to restore the service. |
| Website server logs | For the limited period set by our website hosting provider. |
After information is deleted, copies can remain in backups until they expire, as shown above. Information stored on a device that is lost or offline stays on that device until it reconnects, because our deletion tools can’t reach it. We may keep specific information longer only where the law requires it or where needed to protect someone’s safety or resolve a legal claim, and only until that need ends.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your household’s information. For example:
- Information travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and our hosting provider encrypts stored data.
- Our server’s access rules let each adult and each shared screen reach only their own household’s records, and keep Private items away from other adults and from shared screens.
- Shared screens sign in as the screen, with only the rights a parent gives them, and can be removed at any time.
- The copy of your household on your phone or iPad is protected by iOS data protection. It is part of your device’s own iCloud or computer backup, which Apple’s or your computer’s backup settings protect.
Your household’s information is not end-to-end encrypted: our server can read it, because it needs to build each screen’s view and keep every device in sync. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security. Keep your password and pairing codes private. If you believe your account has been compromised or you find a security problem, email hello@homeweek.app. If we learn of a security incident that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires, usually by email.
10. Your choices and rights
Controls in the app
- Make an item Private, or an event Busy only, when you create or edit it, and choose who sees new items by default in Settings > Privacy & Data.
- Owners and admins: choose what each shared screen may do, or remove it, in Settings > Devices & Shared iPad.
- Owners and admins: choose how long past items are kept, turn the server archive off, and download it, in Settings > Privacy & Data.
- Owners and admins: turn weather off in Settings > Weather & Locale.
- Download a copy of the household’s records: owners and admins can use Settings > Privacy & Data > Export Household. The download is a file of the records with a list of stored files; it doesn’t include the photos themselves. Any adult can email us for a copy of their own information, including photos.
- Leave a household in Settings > Household & People > Leave Household. The household keeps what you shared with it.
Deleting your account or household
Email hello@homeweek.app from the email address on your account and ask us to delete your account or, if you are its owner, your whole household. We will confirm the request with you and complete it within 45 days. In a household that has other adults, the household keeps what you shared with it. When a household is deleted, its photos, files and shared screens are deleted too.
Requests by email
You can also ask us to access, correct, delete or give you a copy of your information, or to stop using it, by emailing hello@homeweek.app with “Privacy request” in the subject line, or by writing to the address in Section 16. Anyone may send us a request, wherever they live. Where a law gives you a privacy right, we honor it as that law requires, within the time it sets and subject to the exceptions it allows.
Verification
To protect your household, we verify requests before acting on them. We will usually ask you to write from the email address on your account and may ask you to confirm details about your household. We never ask for your password or pairing codes. If we can’t verify a request, we will tell you why.
Authorized agents
Where the law allows, you may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We will ask the agent for your signed permission and may ask you to verify your identity with us directly. A parent or legal guardian may make requests on behalf of their child.
Appeals
If we decline all or part of your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, or by emailing hello@homeweek.app with “Privacy appeal” in the subject line. We will tell you in writing what we decided and why, within the time the law that applies to you requires. If you disagree with the outcome, you may contact the state authority that enforces the privacy law that applies to you.
No discrimination
We will not deny you service, charge you a different price or give you a different quality of service because you used a privacy right. Some requests, such as deleting your account, mean we can no longer provide HomeWeek to you.
11. U.S. state privacy notice
This section adds to the rest of this policy for residents of California and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws.
Categories of personal information we collect
We collect these categories of personal information, from the sources in Section 2 (you, other adults in your household, your household’s devices, your browser):
- Identifiers: names, email addresses, account and device IDs and IP addresses.
- Customer records: name and email address.
- Internet or other electronic network activity: technical information, sign-in records, and the household’s activity list.
- Geolocation data: the household’s weather place, if weather is on, rounded to about 1 kilometer, and any location stored inside a photo you attach to an event, which can be precise.
- Audio, electronic, visual or similar information: photos and handwritten notes.
- Other information you choose to enter: the household’s events, chores, lists, notes and other plans, which can include anything you write in them.
- Sensitive personal information: account sign-in credentials, personal information about children that parents enter, any precise location stored inside a photo attached to an event, and any health information a household writes in its calendar, such as an appointment (see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy).
Use, disclosure and retention
We use each category for the purposes in Section 3. We disclose it for business purposes only to the recipients in Section 6: the adults and screens in your household, our service providers, and others where the law requires. We keep each category as Section 8 describes.
No sale or sharing
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. That includes the personal information of children and teens under 16. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising or for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Sensitive personal information and health
We use sensitive personal information only to provide HomeWeek and keep it secure, as the law permits, and not to infer anything about anyone. Because we don’t use it for any other purpose, there is nothing for a request to limit its use to turn off. Households may write appointments, such as a doctor’s visit, into their calendar. We store them only to show them to the household. When Smart Add suggests an event, the app can suggest the category “Medical” from words such as “dentist,” on your device, only to choose the event’s symbol; you can change it. We don’t use appointments, categories or anything else to draw conclusions about anyone’s health, and we don’t share them except as Section 6 describes. Residents of Washington and Nevada can read our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Your rights
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose and to get a copy of it; to correct it; to delete it; to receive it in a portable format; to opt out of its sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling (we do none of these); to limit the use of sensitive personal information; to appeal our decision; and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. Section 10 explains how to make a request, how we verify it, how to use an authorized agent and how to appeal.
Other state notices
California residents: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Nevada residents: we do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law.
12. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for how to respond to it. HomeWeek doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and our websites have no ads and no tools that follow you to other sites, so our practices are the same whether or not your browser sends the signal. Because we don’t sell or share personal information, a Global Privacy Control signal has nothing to turn off. Where the law requires, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing.
13. Our websites
homeweek.app. Our website has no ads, no analytics, no cookies, no sign-in and no forms, and loads nothing from other websites. If you click an email link, your own email app creates the message, and we receive only what you choose to send. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, receives the basic technical information your browser sends, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, and may keep it for a limited time in server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don’t use it to identify or profile you.
Links to other websites, such as Apple’s support pages and the App Store, take you to sites covered by their own privacy policies.
14. Where information is processed
Vantaryn Labs is based in the United States, and HomeWeek is operated from the United States. Your information is processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make a material change, we will tell adults in the app or by email before it takes effect. Before we use information we already have in a materially different way than this policy describes, we will ask for your consent.
We keep each version of this page at its own permanent web address, so you can always see the version you agreed to. This version is at https://homeweek.app/privacy/2026-11-03/.
16. Contact us
